Hilary Duff Plays It ‘Cool’

Photo: Getty Images
But Is She Too Cool for School?: Hilary Duff has joined Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, and Chevy Chase in Mark and Michael Polish's Stay Cool, a "knowing-your-age" comedy about a successful author who meets up with his unrequited high-school crush when he comes back to deliver a high-school graduation speech. Duff will play a "sexy high school senior who flirts with the visiting author and invites him to prom." She can currently be seen in John Cusack's War, Inc., playing who-cares-it's-terrible-don't-see-it. [HR]

Showtime Falls for Clooney: George Clooney has set up The Fall of Bob at Showtime, a half-hour comedy about a man whose life flashes before his eyes as he jumps off a building. We can already tell that this series' finale is going to have a huge impact. [Variety]

Millar Is Wanted for Sequel: Another score for primary-source Internet news! Mark Millar has posted on his own message board that he's already in talks to develop Wanted 2 for Universal because "everyone knows this is going to make a LOT of dough." [Comingsoon]

White Also Rocking Sequel: Another score for primary-source live-human news! Mike White tells a panel at the Los Angeles Film Festival that he just turned in a script for School of Rock 2, and that he can't go into it, but it made him cry. We would cry tears of joy at a sequel to Chuck & Buck. Oodly oodly oodly oodly oodly oodly fun fun fun! [Defamer]

Jonaspocalypse Now Redux: Just like the T-1000 in Terminator 2, shoot The Jonas Brothers as much as you want, but they'll always come back and they won't stop until you're good and dead. Even after its lackluster ratings by HSM2 standards, Disney Channel wasted no time in announcing a Camp Rock sequel, thus postponing Jonas Judgment Day to at least fall '09. [HR]

Cowell Is Going to Hollywood: Simon Cowell's Paul Potts project, One Chance, is moving ahead at Paramount now that The Bucket List's Justin Zackman is aboard to write the script. If you somehow aren't one of the 26 gazillion people who've seen his amazing story of becoming an opera singer via a spot on Britain's Got Talent, watch this YouTube video immediately. We must say, Paul Potts, you've come a long way from being a brutal Cambodian dictator. [HR]

Cross Canadian Ragweed conventional itself as a persistent touring band throughout the Texas/Oklahoma area and and so broadened its hit, nationally releasing several albums of rebel-rousing alt-country. Formed in 1994 in Stillwater, OK, the set took its name from those of its members: frontman and lead guitarist Cody Canada, drummer Randy Ragsdale, cycle guitarist Grady Cross, and bassist Jeremy Plato. Though the set toured heavily from its origin, establishing a particularly strong fan base in Texas, it didn't acquittance its first base album until 2001 when Underground Sounds released Highway 377. Two more releases for the label followed, Live and Loud at the Wormy Dog (2001) and Carney (2002), earlier the dance band affected to Smith Music Group for Live and Loud at Billy Bob's Texas (2002). In 2004 the group signed to Universal South and released Soul Gravy, followed by Garage in October of 2005.

Naomi Campbell Pleads Guilty to Assault Charges

Black Lips' Tesco advert pulled at last minute

Black Lips have claimed that their music was set to feature in an advert for Tesco, until the supermarket cancelled it over concerns for the lyrical content.

The advert, which was reportedly made, was soundtracked by the American band's track 'Veni Vidi Vici', taken from their 2007 album 'Good Bad Not Evil'.

However, the song's references to religious figures led to Tesco pull the advert.

Speaking to Pitchfork, vocalist Cole Alexander said: "They [Tesco] were gonna do an advertisement and they listened to the lyrics of 'Veni Vidi Vici' and they got cold feet and pulled the plug on the ad."

Bassist Jared Swilley added: "They took it away because we mentioned Muhammad and Jesus."

Tommy Lee Is Cyber Spying on Pammy!

Some guys snoop on their girlfriend by sneaking a peek at their text messages, or even leafing through their journal.

But Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson would never be that traditional.

Pam has told Radar magazine that her on-again-off-again-on-again etc. boyfriend has set up a Google Alert to keep tabs on her!

She told the mag that the Motley Crue drummer uses the tool, which sends him an email every time her name is mentioned on the Internet, to find out what she's been up to -- and then quizzes her about everything he's found out.

And it sounds like the super babe, who has just moved in with her ex-husband to give their relationship its millionth chance, is already getting a little irritated by his cyber spying.

"For some reason, Tommy has me Google Alerted," she told the magazine.

"He'll always be like, 'What's this?' 'What's this?'

"He gets every single thing. And I'm like, 'Honey! Stop Google Alerting me!'

"He loves me. I love him. But I don't Google Alert him."

Sounds like their latest attempt to patch things up is off to a great start!
