Peakdale Molecular Launches AssayReady4U(TM) In Collaboration With ChemPrintCo LLC
discovery researchers the ability to search, invention and blue-ribbon compounds from
a live physical solicitation of screening compounds. Then, using additional
options, build their final assay by selecting the exact measure and
assiduity required to perform their own unique experiments.
The final customer-selected compounds are cleanly and
accurately dispensed into SBS measure well plates of the customer's choosing
using ChemPrintCo's sophisticated and proprietary hydro-acoustic
technologies. Each AssayReady4U plate is sealed in an argon environment and
then vacuum-sealed in a moisture barrier bag and placed inside a
temperature-controlled pack for shipment. All orders are shipped from stock
within 24 hours of completion using a commercial carrier. Upon receipt, the
customer adds an set aside amount of solvent to reach the desired test
concentration.
Peakdale's collection is fundamentally rich in novel,
GPCR-targeted compounds. All compounds in the collection are selected for
their pertinency to GPCR research. Well-recognized ligand features are
combined with proprietorship scaffolds and monomers to produce a set of
screening compounds for GPCR hit discovery.
Glenn Killingworth, Director of Business Development at
Peakdale said: "I am frantic that we have reinforced this collaborationism in order
to reach out the smaller drug-research groups who don't want to build assets to
computer storage, handle and plate compounds, but but want to receive ready-to-screen
assays from a high quality collection, in on the nose the format that they need
to perform their drug discovery work."
Peakdale's Director of Technology Paul Doyle aforementioned: "This
represents an exciting new technology that allows a a great deal broader base of
researchers to access the world of various compounds in a cost effective
mode."
Adding to this, ChemPrintCo's Vice President of Sales Ron Jones said:
"The AssayReady4U(TM) products will be offered via an innovational web-based
one-stop shopping shopfront. The researchers will effortlessly select
compounds, assay test concentration, plate format, plate manufacturer and
controls with a few clicks of a mouse thus optimizing their valuable time for
research."

Comparing Intermittent To Continuous Androgen Deprivation For Advanced Prostate Cancer
The patients were accrued between 1997 and 2003 and had a life expectancy of at least 12 months. A 24 week flow in of continuous LHRH agonist therapy preceded randomisation for those who had a PSA decrease to
Mean patient role age was 72 days and hateful PSA at entry was 383ng/ml. Patients had point T3 tumors (61%) and stage T4 tumors (29%). A come of 564 men completed the row period and 279 were randomized to IAD and 285 to CAD. PSA, alkaline phosphatase, proportion of T4 tumors, poorly differentiated tumors, metastatic disease, and skeletal hot spots among patients with M1 disease were significantly higher in the IAD group. Baseline testosterone was not important in the analysis.
A significant proportion of patients with the most fast-growing and advance CaP did not reply to androgenic hormone deprivation therapy. The investigators concluded that IAD appears feasible for patients with locally advanced, hormone sore CaP. A low limit of testosterone at baseline did non select for IAD or CAD. Patients with advanced CaP, with a high PSA, alkaline phosphatase and metastatic disease, with more than 5 skeletal hot spots, did not read adequate biochemical response to ADT. Thus, they ar not good candidates for IAD and other modalities should be considered.

Amy Winehouse - Winehouse Lunges At Fan
Troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE stunned followers at the U.K.'s Glastonbury festival after seemingly attacking a fan.
The 24-year-old was singing her hit track Rehab to 75,000 fans on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday (28Jun08) when she jumped from the stage and into the security pit.
The star - who has been receiving medical attention for the lung disease emphysema - then appeared to lash out at a fan, striking the unnamed devotee with her fist.
But a spokesman for Winehouse insists she was provoked, adding, "The 'lashing out' was when someone tried to grab her hair and she reacted."
Winehouse also hit back at fans who booed her as she paid tribute to her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
She said, "Boo me one more time and I'll find you and your phone and call your mum and tell her you ain't got no manners."

Hilary Duff Plays It ‘Cool’
But Is She Too Cool for School?: Hilary Duff has joined Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, and Chevy Chase in Mark and Michael Polish's Stay Cool, a "knowing-your-age" comedy about a successful author who meets up with his unrequited high-school crush when he comes back to deliver a high-school graduation speech. Duff will play a "sexy high school senior who flirts with the visiting author and invites him to prom." She can currently be seen in John Cusack's War, Inc., playing who-cares-it's-terrible-don't-see-it. [HR]
Showtime Falls for Clooney: George Clooney has set up The Fall of Bob at Showtime, a half-hour comedy about a man whose life flashes before his eyes as he jumps off a building. We can already tell that this series' finale is going to have a huge impact. [Variety]

White Also Rocking Sequel: Another score for primary-source live-human news! Mike White tells a panel at the Los Angeles Film Festival that he just turned in a script for School of Rock 2, and that he can't go into it, but it made him cry. We would cry tears of joy at a sequel to Chuck & Buck. Oodly oodly oodly oodly oodly oodly fun fun fun! [Defamer]
Jonaspocalypse Now Redux: Just like the T-1000 in Terminator 2, shoot The Jonas Brothers as much as you want, but they'll always come back and they won't stop until you're good and dead. Even after its lackluster ratings by HSM2 standards, Disney Channel wasted no time in announcing a Camp Rock sequel, thus postponing Jonas Judgment Day to at least fall '09. [HR]
Cowell Is Going to Hollywood: Simon Cowell's Paul Potts project, One Chance, is moving ahead at Paramount now that The Bucket List's Justin Zackman is aboard to write the script. Cross Canadian Ragweed conventional itself as a persistent touring band throughout the Texas/Oklahoma area and and so broadened its hit, nationally releasing several albums of rebel-rousing alt-country. Formed in 1994 in Stillwater, OK, the set took its name from those of its members: frontman and lead guitarist Cody Canada, drummer Randy Ragsdale, cycle guitarist Grady Cross, and bassist Jeremy Plato. Though the set toured heavily from its origin, establishing a particularly strong fan base in Texas, it didn't acquittance its first base album until 2001 when Underground Sounds released Highway 377. Two more releases for the label followed, Live and Loud at the Wormy Dog (2001) and Carney (2002), earlier the dance band affected to Smith Music Group for Live and Loud at Billy Bob's Texas (2002). In 2004 the group signed to Universal South and released Soul Gravy, followed by Garage in October of 2005.
Naomi Campbell Pleads Guilty to Assault Charges
Black Lips' Tesco advert pulled at last minute
The advert, which was reportedly made, was soundtracked by the American band's track 'Veni Vidi Vici', taken from their 2007 album 'Good Bad Not Evil'.
However, the song's references to religious figures led to Tesco pull the advert.
Speaking to Pitchfork, vocalist Cole Alexander said: "They [Tesco] were gonna do an advertisement and they listened to the lyrics of 'Veni Vidi Vici' and they got cold feet and pulled the plug on the ad."
Bassist Jared Swilley added: "They took it away because we mentioned Muhammad and Jesus."

Tommy Lee Is Cyber Spying on Pammy!
Some guys snoop on their girlfriend by sneaking a peek at their text messages, or even leafing through their journal.
But Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson would never be that traditional.
Pam has told Radar magazine that her on-again-off-again-on-again etc. boyfriend has set up a Google Alert to keep tabs on her!
She told the mag that the Motley Crue drummer uses the tool, which sends him an email every time her name is mentioned on the Internet, to find out what she's been up to -- and then quizzes her about everything he's found out.
And it sounds like the super babe, who has just moved in with her ex-husband to give their relationship its millionth chance, is already getting a little irritated by his cyber spying.
"For some reason, Tommy has me Google Alerted," she told the magazine.
"He'll always be like, 'What's this?' 'What's this?'
"He gets every single thing. And I'm like, 'Honey! Stop Google Alerting me!'
"He loves me. I love him. But I don't Google Alert him."
Sounds like their latest attempt to patch things up is off to a great start!
